You have questions, we have answers!

Yes! We're always happy to welcome new pets and their people to the Dandy Acres family. You can request an appointment online or give us a call to get started. Complimentary first exam for new patients!

Please bring your pet in a carrier or on a leash. We’ll need prior records in advance, so be sure to arrange that with us. It’s always a good idea to bring any paperwork you may have as well. Bring a fresh fecal sample, in case your pet needs a parasite screen.💩

We save same-day appointments for sick pets, even new patients! During open hours we do our best to help in emergency situations. If your pet needs to go to the ER, we can at least do what we can here first, then send you as a referral and share records.

You know your pet best. Difficulty breathing, lethargy/hiding (especially in combination with vomiting and/or diarrhea), eye issues (can escalate), not eating or drinking, male cats unable to urinate- those are all reasons to head to seek immediate care. You can always text us, even after hours, we check on evenings and weekends. AEC Novi - (248) 348-1788

Fear Free is a philosophy focused on reducing the stress, anxiety, and fear that pets often associate with vet visits. Our team is trained to read your pet's body language, move at their pace, and use techniques that keep them as calm and comfortable as possible — from the moment they walk in. We won’t proceed if your pet is at their limit. We’ll send you home with calming meds to try again, never charging twice for unsuccessful attempts.

Cats sometimes stress out. We can relate. The number one way to help is to get your cat accustomed to their carrier. We recommend feeding in the carrier, to help them associate it with comfort and care. Also, you can drape a blanket over the carrier, which reduces excess stimulation while traveling. Bring along something that smells familiar. This one might be hard, but refrain from talking to your cat during the car ride.

The best thing you can do is bring your dog in for happy visits - no pokes, just pets, just stopping by to say hi! It helps rewire their brains! Also, bring your pup a little hungry (treats work better to distract), bring something that smells familiar (blanket or toy), and tell us their favorite treat (we have lots of options).

We are cats and dogs only for now. Exceptions may be made for humane euthanasia needs, please call us to discuss.

We work hard to keep our prices competitive. It’s impossible to predict or promise a certain price point, but we’ll go over a treatment plan tailored to your pet. Vaccines are $45-70, routine tests are $50-70, bloodwork is $150-$200. It depends on what your pet needs. We recommend pet insurance. www.pawlicyadvisor.com is great to compare plans. We run specials for dentistry in November and February!

We accept all forms of payment including Google and Apple Pay. We offer payment plans through CareCredit. We highly recommend pet insurance. We work hard to be clear and transparent about pricing - we don’t like surprises when it comes to finances!
