We’re the McCarthys!

Dandy Acres Animal Hospital is where it all began in 2003- a family-owned, family-operated practice built on the belief that your pet deserves to be cared for by people who truly mean it. When you walk through our doors, your pet is not a chart. You’re not a number. You're a neighbor, and your animal is in the hands of a family that chose this work because it matters. Dandy Acres is the first of our three locations, alongside Easthaven in Ann Arbor and Shelter Bay in Novi.

Dr. Therese McCarthy is the very pulse of our medical team, bringing over 40 years of veterinary experience and a commitment to staying current- because medicine never stops evolving. Terry keeps everything in motion: the vision, the operations, the long morning runs with the dogs. Somehow, it all fits. Francis is our steady anchor- handling HR, finance, and the unexpected with the kind of assured competence that makes everything look easy. And Jeannie manages Shelter Bay while juggling technology and outreach.

Then there's Tibie, Beckett, Bodhi, and Howl- who remind us every day why we’re here.

Behind every patient is a family who loves them. If you want your pet to be treated like family, you’ve come to the right place.

"Outstanding! Everyone at Dandy Acres was so kind, supportive and knowledgeable. Our cat had dental surgery and the team walk told me what to expect and answered all my questions. Would highly recommend." -Pam
